Call for counter-demonstrations on Nov. 23 in Hannover
This Saturday, November 23, the right-wing party NPD has announced a demonstration in Hannover that explicitly targets several journalists who are researching and reporting on the right-wing extremist scene.
It is shocking that such harassment is part of everyday life for many journalists, but also for many fellow citizens, whether in Hannover, Germany, Europe or the world. It is therefore important to stand together and to set a sign together and decisively: HERE NOW EVERYONE!
That is why we join the appeal of many representatives and call for participation in one of the many counter-demonstrations. Anyone who threatens the free press threatens us, our freedom and our democracy!
Update November 22:
The demonstration by right-wing party NPD has been prohibited by the police. The NPD can and will file an appeal against the decision with the court. The counter-demonstrations will take place anyway and we call for participation in those no matter what!
A small overview of different counter-demonstrations:
At 12:00, Heinrich-Heine-Platz: Demonstration of the Green Youth Lower Saxony et al.
At 13:30, Dietrich-Kittner-Platz: Demonstration of Aufstehen gegen Rassismus Hannover, Hannover gegen Nazis! et al.
At 13:30, Stephansplatz: Demonstration of the DGB Niedersachsen with final rally at 15:00 at Opernplatz
