Final sprint for the competition only digital
The effects of the Corona crisis do not stop at the national competition for the European Capital of Culture 2025. Instead of traveling, on-site meetings and personal conversations, live streams and video conferences will now be used in the final sprint and during the last presentations before the decision on the future European Capital of Culture 2025. The Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in cooperation with Kulturstiftung der Länder informed the remaining five German applicant cities about this.
For our team leaders Melanie Botzki and Inga Samii, the switch from analog to digital is "not unexpected." They accept the challenge: "This also opens up new, unimagined possibilities for us."
The dates that have been postponed before already remain unchanged. They now take place exclusively digitally:
October 19: Jury visit
October 26: Jury presentation
October 28: Decision on the European Capital of Culture 2025
